Do you know how well your hip or knee implant is affecting your walking?

Have you had a hip or knee joint replacement?

Has your pain reduced but you have been left with an altered gait (walking pattern)?

Do you still have pain around the joint replacement or at another joint or lower back?

Whilst joint replacements are very successful, some people are left with pain or an uneven walking pattern (gait). It is not uncommon for patients to have a small leg  length difference and the changes that occur in the muscles due to years of a painful gait before surgery can affect function after surgery. Even small discrepancies can cause problems, sometimes many years after surgery.

Have you considered a detailed 3D gait analysis?

We can measure accurately the way in which you are walking, identify any imbalances and provide you with a personal rehabilitation programme to optimise the result if your surgery.
